Genex enforces the strictest regulations for the control and care of all samples to ensure that the quality and integrity of each sample is accounted for during the entire paternity testing process, right from the time of sample collection until the paternity testing report is generated. Chain-of-custody protocols are followed during sample collection, transport, and within the laboratory to ensure continuity of possession. All samples are uniquely identified, securely stored, and continuity is maintained through the Internal Tracking Document (chain-of-custody record) which accompanies the sample at all times. Samples are securely destroyed after the DNA testing is completed.

From the point of sample collection, all samples are handled according to a standardized evidence control system to maintain sample integrity at each step of the testing procedure. The strict procedures which are routinely followed by all Genex personnel in maintaining sample integrity are summarized below:

All individuals are properly identified at the collection site according to Genex's strict identification protocols.
Immediately following sample collection, all samples are packaged in tamper-proof packaging.
Strict chain-of-custody procedures are followed for all samples to ensure sample integrity.
Immediately following sample collection, all samples are delivered directly to Genex using an internationally recognized express overnight courier.
Comprehensive Internal Laboratory Tracking documents follow the samples at all times once the samples arrive at the laboratory.
All samples are stored in secure lockers and locking freezers.
Genex follows a strict quality assurance protocol during specimen processing.
All DNA paternity tests are performed at Genex's secure facility.
All samples are uniquely labeled for identification.
Samples are securely destroyed after the DNA testing is completed.
