Genex emphasizes security of stored samples within the facility. Genex is equipped with multiple secure lockers and locking freezers which are monitored by video surveillance. The lockers and freezers are only accessible by appropriate laboratory personnel. To maintain the integrity of the samples during storage, all samples are securely stored in the secure lockers and locking freezers. Genex's strict security protocols ensure that in addition to the samples, all DNA and subsequent extraction products of the samples must also be securely stored in locking freezers. For forensic samples, additional requirements may include freezing, drying or another form of preservation prior to storage.

All records, reports and patient files are stored in locking filing cabinets. All filing cabinets are monitored by video surveillance 24 hours a day and are not accessible to non-laboratory personnel. If more than one person works on a case, the case record will document who has performed all stages of the analysis/examination as well as the person who placed the sample into storage.
