B vitamins are a class of water-soluble compounds that play important roles in health and wellness. Folate or vitamin B9 is essential for fetal development during pregnancy. B12 plays a role in nerve cell function, red blood cell production and keeping your DNA free from damage.
Vitamin D is often known as the ‘sunshine’ vitamin, since sunlight is essential for producing vitamin D in the skin. It is required for the proper mineralization of bone and helps maintain healthy, and radiant skin. Our bodies are unable to produce B-vitamins, so it is important that they are included in your diet. If you are planning of conceiving it is important to ensure your diet contains sufficient amount of B vitamins to support your baby’s growth and development.
