Albumin
Albumin is a protein produced by the liver involved in immune function. Lower levels of albumin may indicate liver damage.
Bilirubin

Total protein count
Total protein count measures the presence of albumin and globulin the two main proteins present in blood. In the case of liver disease, there will be a reduction in total protein measurements as lower levels of albumin and globulin will be produced.Gamma glutamine transferase (GGT)
Gamma glutamine transferase (GGT) is an enzyme mainly found in the liver. It is a highly sensitive marker of liver damage and increase amounts are produced by a damaged liver.
Alkaline phosphatase (ALP)
Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is another liver enzyme, whose levels may become elevated when bile ducts in the liver become blocked due to liver damage.
Alanine aminotransferase
Alanine aminotransferase is a protein that is made in very low levels in healthy individuals. Its levels are elevated in the presence of liver damage.Symptoms associated with liver damage and liver disorders include
- Abdominal pain
- Jaundice (yellow discolouration of the skin and eyes)
- Nausea and vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Fatigue
